Oakland Inaugural Celebrations

January 2019

Community - Family - Fun for All

“Inauguration week presents a unique moment for Oaklanders to turn toward one another to show our city's values and celebrate our secret sauce. In addition to an Inaugural Gala to raise critical funds for our signature initiatives The Oakland Promise and Keep Oakland Housed, our vision for this week is to hold events that are inclusive, artistic and reflect the values, ideas, and cultures we all cherish.”

The event benefits two signature initiatives, The Oakland Promise and Keep Oakland Housed, and is sure to be a night you won't forget, complete with tasty dinner and drinks, an inspiring youth-focused program, performances by award winning musical artists, and capped off with dancing into the night inside the Fox and under a big top tent beneath the stars!

Tickets to the dance party are going quick, but purchasing a ticket to the dinner gets you VIP access all night long.

Parking is near the Fox Theater, off Telegraph, 19th Street and other surrounding streets. Take BART to the 19th Street Uptown Station. Public transportation is encouraged.

Inaugural Gala to Benefit Oakland Promise

The goal of the gala is to launch the Generation Fund, which will allow the Oakland Promise to support over 100,000 students and families for the next 30 years.

In 2016, Mayor Libby Schaaf made a bold promise to dramatically increase the number of college graduates from Oakland within a decade. Our vision is that every child in this community has the opportunity to graduate high school, complete college and pursue the career of his or her dreams.

Join us, and help make the promise a reality!
